The folks at Colorado United Credit Union are on a mission to educate our community, and more specifically, the consumer, on the difference between credit unions and banks. You may have noticed that you hardly hear about your local credit union in the media.

We don't have the large marketing budgets that banks have to get the word out, because credit unions are not-for-profit. If we did, you would see our members' hard-earned dollars buying national TV spots and luring new folks in with "free" big dollar items and cash.

With our "people first, not profits" philosophy in mind, we thought it was best to roll up our sleeves, participate in a little grassroots marketing and utilize the power of the Web to get the word out, hence www.dumpyourbankcolorado.org was born.
